What I'm Wearing - Snowpocalypse Edition

Image
With the midwest experiencing the Snowpocalypse, I figured it was a good time to post the 2018 edition of What I'm Wearing. People always seem surprised when I say I run outdoors in just about any weather, but it the clothes you are wearing make all the difference between a great run and a miserable one. With the right amount of layers and key pieces, winter running can be enjoyable.

Chicago Marathon Training Week 12

Image
I can't believe the marathon is a month away! A few weeks ago it felt like there was still a lot of time to train, but suddenly I look at my training schedule and see that it is almost time to taper. Fall is my favorite time of year, and now that the weather has started to cool off and all things pumpkin have popped up, I am ready to run in my favorite season.

What I'm Wearing - Summer Edition

Image
Summer is my least favorite season for running. I'm sure that most would say that winter is their least favorite, but honestly, I like winter. You can put as many layers as needed on, but with summer running, there is only so much you can take off. I've tried a lot of styles over the years, and thankfully summer styles have improved a lot. I've rounded up my favorite hot weather styles that have gotten me through some very steamy weather.

What I'm Wearing - Spring Edition

Spring running is pretty similar to fall running, but rainier! Spring in the midwest means cool mornings, humidity, rain, wind, and warm afternoons. Thankfully most of the fall pieces you may already own transition well into spring.

It is now officially April and that means my race is in 20 days!!!! The nerves and excitement are starting to set in. Yesterday I had my second 20 mile run and it is definitely sinking in that this is going to be happening...soon.

Earth Day 50k Training Update

Image
What a week! I started my new job, became a morning runner, and ran one of my longest training runs in a while. Needless to say, I am exhausted! I am still working on balancing a new job, training for my first ultra, and everything else in life, but I know that each week will get easier.

What I'm Wearing - Winter Edition

Image
February has arrived and I am still running outside. I have made it this far into winter and after training for a half during most of it, I have just about perfected what to wear. As I did at the end of fall with my Fall Edition post , I am going to share some of my favorite winter running pieces that have kept me warm and dry.

What I'm Wearing - Late Fall Edition

Image
Despite it being officially December, I wouldn't say it truly feels like winter yet. Some days I head out for a run still wearing shorts while other days I need to layer. I received a few inquiries as to what I wear when the summer temps drop so I thought I would share a few of my favorite late fall running pieces.
